Has someone installed old style Schaller locking strap buttons to JP6 guitars, and if someone has done that do you need drill or do any custom things to fit those on JP6?

I have the Schallers on all of my guitars. 99% of the time you can use the screw that comes with the stock buttons.

Have you installed those Schaller ones to JP6, and if so did you use JP6 original screws or Schaller ones? And did you need drill those original holes, or did you need to fill them tighter glue wood sticks or anything like that?

Yes, the screws that came with the stock buttons- the original screws. You unscrew the strap buttons, take the stock buttons off, put the Schaller ones on, and screw them back in.

(This is assuming these are old Schallers- the new ones have screws attached to the buttons. And those screws are larger in diameter.)

I've done this a zillion times. For the really old Schallers, the ones that had a slightly smaller inside diameter, I'd used different screws with a smaller head. But even then, you can use screws with the same threads so you don't need to fill/redrill the holes.

It's not complicated- unscrew the old ones and give it a try.

Nice to know thanks for info and yep old style schaller are what i was thinking, not those new ones where you can not take out those screws. And did you ever try those schaller orginal screws, are they different thickness than JP6 original screws?

I think they're the same diameter, but I'm not sure. Regardless, you can use the same screws the JP6 came with.
