I have a JP6 that I purchased new late Oct 2009.

The pickups seem to squeal in high gain settings, much more than any of my other guitars, particularly if the gain is coming from a pedal (does it on several) rather than the high-gain channel of my Electra-dyne

Just curious before I bug customer service, do any other JP6 players experience this?

Mike, I'd give customer service a yell first. Give them a chance to address the issue. Plus it's new. If it's a warranty issue, they can fix it up.

Mike you should really work with your dealer first, then have them contact CS and work it from there.

Sounds like microphonic feedback. An unfortunate side effect of direct mount pickups and too much gain. I noticed that some of the JP's I've owned came with the pickups very loosely mounted to the body. That could cause microphonic feedback.

But I'm not giving you advice. Your best bet is to call customer service. That's what they're for.
