Hi all :)

Could anyone advise when the Stainless Steel frets were introduced to the JP6 models..?

It's my understanding they weren't always built that way, but the current line up of JP6's feature SS across the range

Would I be correct in assuming that all the BFR models have SS frets..?

Yes, the Tobacco Burst, Amethyst Burst, Ruby Red Burst, Bahama Blue Burst, Trans Black Burst, and Koa were all available colors on the JP BFR line (the ones with mahogany tone block) prior to the SS fret changeover. The JP BFR were (are) available in 6 string, 7 string, and 6 string baritone guitar. All of those models came fully loaded with piezo, JP inlays, quilt/flame/koa top, and finished mahogany neck (the all-rosewood neck was a 30-day option in 2008 and would have nickel frets).

If the BFR JP has a color matched headstock (and is not cherry burst/koa/solar burst) instead of the current opaque black headstock then it certainly has nickel frets.

If you have the serial number for a particular guitar you can post it in the sticky thread at the top of the page and EB Customer Service will tell you if the guitar was built before/after the SS fret change.

The new tremolo design was introduced around the same time. It appears more rectangular in appearance (clearing the high "E" bridge saddle).

Pete, do you know if by just looking at which tremolo is installed maybe a quick visual indicator as to which frets where used on a particular instrument?
