My original floyd rose is Still in prefect Working order. I am alittle sadded that musicman aren't using a single piece of machined steel. I would pay extra for that!

But the guitar still works and sounds amazing!

Yeah, I think CS is the best way to go here, we could speculate forever and not come up with an actual reason.

I guarantee that using stainless would change the tone of the guitar (in a way that most people don't like).

I'm not so sure it would be as dramatic as you think. The bridge is made of steel in the first place and the saddles are where the real tonal changes happen. The saddles wouldn't have to change for the knife edge to change. Were it a brass tremolo I would be more concerned.

I would be more worried about the mass of the tremolo changing to the extent that it affects the sustain of the instrument. If the mass is higher and adds sustain, no problem, but if the mass is lower for some reason it would decrease sustain which is adverse to what's typically desired.
