So yesterday I saw that there is a new color JP6, but I also noticed that it had the JPXI bridge. Is that going to be the standard bridge for the JP series now? That would be awesome! Just wondering.

Not trying to hijack but what is the jpxi bridge? If there was a bridge change I can see them making it across the board like when JP changes pups or strings.

I see what you're talking about on that silver jp6 on the music-man website. in an effort to to avoid the trem post bolt touching the high e string or the saddle the post bolt has been moved out a bit, or so thats what it appears to be.

Yeah on the JPXi they redesigned the bridge so the treble side post is a little further out. Apparently there was a problem on trem dives where the high E saddle could hit the post. Makes sense they would do it across the board if they already redesigned the trem. Although I see it as a problem that doesn't exist anyway. The amount you have to dive bomb the trem to hit the post is ridiculous.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense to just put that trem on all the JP guitars. Is it a new color though? It looks like Sterling Silver to me.

I suspect, looking at the music-man page, that all the JPs were updated wit the new bridge. The JP6 ant the JPX pictures show the new bridge.

I've never experienced any problem with the original design. I like the more contoured look of it too, although it's hardly noticeable. I didn't notice a difference until it was pointed out in this thread. Even then, I had to figure out what you guys were talking about.

I only ever noticed the posts hitting the saddle on my 7 strings (although this doesn't happen on my JPX7.. it all had to do with where intonation settings of any given guitar left that high e saddle.) I'd imagine that even if it was just the 7 strings that had the problem, they'd opt for as universal a design to keep things as simple as possible.
