So I put on 10-62s yesterday on my JP7 and did a full setup. Playing this morning I noticed that the damn low B piezo saddle doesn't work because the string doesn't seem to apply enough pressure on the piezo element. The only solution I've found is to raise the saddle but then the action on the low B goes insanely high.

I've tried like 3 different 62s from EB, Daddario and DR and they all have this issue? Does this mean the system is designed only for limited gauges?

I know I should call CS first but today's a Saturday and this weekend is the Memorial weekend so they'll be closed. I just wanted to see if I could a solution before then. If not I guess I'll have to wait. I've also searched but I've only come up with somewhat relevant topics on here.

First - contact Customer Service. They will gladly help you out.

Second - when I ran into this with my JP7 and contacted customer service, they explained to me that what operates the piezo saddle is pressure. The break angle of the string is part of what puts pressure on that saddle. When you go to a thicker string, that break angle is not as great therefore less pressure.

It's okay for me since I really don't use that top string when playing acoustic. But if I need to, I can tighten the claw and accomplish two things - acoustic on the low B and keep nice action. The trade off is the bridge does not sit parallel to the body.

Ok I just lowered the bridge a smidge and lowered the saddle a bit and pulled the saddle back a bit which caused it to have better intonation and now voila it works.
