Hi,

Just a few questions. I thought my JP7 had long pots rather than short and, that short was used for Fender plates?

"Short pots are good for most modern guitars, it's only a few guitars with thick wooden tops (notably certain periods of Les Paul) that really need th elonger version. You should be absolutely fine with the short pots. However, if you have a JP, the thing that you might need to consider is if the pickup cavities are deep enough to take a Ragnarok. They are often cut quite shallow and the Ragnarok uses an oversized magnet, making it a little taller than normal, which can definitely get you into fitting issues in some JPs. To fit a Ragnarok, you need at least 27mm (just over 1 inch) of clearance between the floor of the cavity and the strings; ideally a little bit more to allow for some height adjustment. It would definitely be worth checking that before going ahead."

The model of my JP7 is:

S/N:
F18677
DOB: 7/31/07
Current Pickups: D-Sonic and custom wound DiMarzio pickups.

Can someone confirm:
- Do the 2007 JP7 models use Long or Short pots
- What is the depth of the cavity?

Thank you.

I just replaced the CrunchLab in my JP7 with a Juggernaut, I did a Custom Order for the Juggernaut with a Flat Baseplate.
The two Pickups were identical in height. There's a step in the Pickup Cavity, it's around 13mm from the top of the guitar down to where the pickup sits inside the Cavity. I ended up with around 4mm between the Polepieces and the Bottom of the low B String
Here's a pic.
