When I first bought my JPMM I immediately send it to Ernie Ball for a set up and frett dressing to get a JP set up. It has been a little over a year and this guitar is played daily. It seems to not stay in tune very well anymore and there are burrs starting to form on the saddles. For some reason, I really don't trust dropping this off to the local tech. If it was a 300 dollar guitar maybe. Are there things that I might be able to do to get a good set up again? I live in CT and the shipping is major $$$$ to send it back out to CA. Im wondering if I might need to buy new parts or if a simple truss rod adjustment might do the trick.....I just don't wanna make it any worse. Thanx guys.

Over a decade ago, I used to have work done on my guitars at East Coast Music Mall in Danbury. They did good work back then. Barry Lipman who used to write the guitar tech-type columns in "Guitar for the Practicing Musician" and did work for DiMeola was there. I trusted him and his people. You might want to scope the place out and see if there are people there that seem like you can trust them. If they or anyone screws up, well...you can always send it to jongitarz.
