JPMM setup

Hey Guys,

I am a little new to the forum and I have some questions about set up for my JPMM. I originally sent my guitar to Ernie Ball to be set up, but obviously there are wood that do not stay perfectly still. Without messing anything up I wanted to make sure that the intonation and everything is set up corectly after a few string changes and a little truss adjustment. Is setting the intonation as simple as tuning the string open and checking the tuning at the 12th fret and adjusting acordingly?

Get yourself a good tuner (Peterson) and strike a harmonic at the 12th fret on each string. just move the saddle forwards or back depending if it's sharp or flat. If you don't play past the 5th fret just turn the amp up

Yeah I guess I don't have a good tuner.....I use the one built into my PODxt

I think anything which has an analog arrow or even a tuner with a digital one would be better than those flashy diodes on those new tuners in the effects

Yeah it's better than pod tuner but, your guitar deserve more than that!

Sorry to borrow the thread, but I'll use this oportunity to ask which are the best (not so expensive) tuners around?

I'll probably buy one in a couple'o weeks and I need to study my options. Links are welcome. Thanks.

I think that BOSS make nice analog ones, check their website as I don't remember the models,

If you want to do your intonation acurately, a good tuner is a must. Though it's a bit pricey, the Peterson Strobostomp is killer- far more acurate than the generic tuners on the market (boss, korg, etc.) and you can use it in your pedalboard.

I've got a Peterson Strobostomp and I like it. Pricey for a tuner, but I like playing in tune.
