Mesa Boogie Artist Gallery

This is the third vid in a trio of really cool interview-type footage the guys at Mesa Boogie put together. In parts 1 and 2, JP talks a bit about his BFRs and mentions a lot of the staff at EB! The link I posted, for the 3rd portion, focuses entirely on his Godly Mark IV/Lonestar etc. rig! Sweet footage and quite interesting!

For the interview segment, simply replace the number 3 in the link to 1 or 2, or just click "Mesa Artist Videos", or whatever it says on the left.

They're quite long, but well worth watching!

(Mods, if you feel this should be moved, the power is yours :))

Man, I just watched all 3 parts. I get really excited and start smiling when I hear JP get so excited over the gear he's using. It makes me feel good that there's someone that gets that much enjoyment out of what he uses, and out of just having the type of relationships that he has with the crew at EB and the crew at Boogie. JP is definitely one of the coolest guys ever. Sometime soon, I hope to get a backstage pass and meet him. Again, kudos for posting these videos. Thank you so much.

Awesome vid man. Thanks for posting this! I wish I could make out what his Mark IV settings are.

here's some of his settings when he used Mark Iv's in the rack, I doubt if they've changed all that much over the years...

At the end of 3, when he says he is running the Mark IVs in stereo, does he mean he is running one guitar signal split into two separate heads and running the same settings on each just for a fatter sound?

I feel like JP does when I play the stuff I like, like Mesas, the Egnater I hope to get, and EBMMs. I feel like I have this inside knowledge that most other people don't have. I feel like saying, "You know, you really should check out these other companies (i.e., Mesa, Egnater, EBMM), because their stuff is so much better than that stuff you've been playing."

Amen, brother Roburado! Can't say much about Marshall's though. The JVM and Vintage Modern are very kickass.

Excellent stuff! Cheers!

In reply to roburado
I think everyone who would be on this forum would know about boogie's though and Egnators through Morse. JP etc. Unless of course you meant in the wider sense , then i agree!
Im with Petrucci rocks on the marshall front or laney for that matter, nothing new under the sun really is there?!:D

awesome video! thanx for the link.

At the end of 3, when he says he is running the Mark IVs in stereo, does he mean he is running one guitar signal split into two separate heads and running the same settings on each just for a fatter sound?

he will use it not with a splitter. i´m really shure he do it like this:
loop every preamp with the GCX looper to select the one he wants, run the signal through the effects and after that go back to both powerampsections of the Mark IVs.
so he gets the chorus and delay sounds in stereo.
(btw. that´s the way i use my two mesa heads in stereo)

the mesa ampswitcher could be used for switching the lonestar head to the same cabinets as the Mark IVs.
i don´t know if i´m right, but it seems to be the only logical method for me.

I did cop his Lonestar settings. They are pretty much what I use. (or maybe he copped mine).
He did mention using Lonestar cleans AND leads. With a JP6 and a lonestar, I can get his cleans and lead tones. The crunch tones are a bit harder to get w/out a roadking or mkIV.
