Does anyone know what colors the JPX has been made in? I love the barolo mine is in, but I would love one in tangerine or one of the other colors you see the standard jp sometimes pop up in. :D

Borolo is the only standard color. The cardnal red PDN and the emerald green PDN are the only 2 other colors it has been offered in to this point... Unless the Mystic Dream run for Japan was also a JPX... Then it's 3 other colors.

I have a Black Sugar JPX, great guitar, only problem is the neck that isn't unfinished.

Ahhh... The best kind of neck. I *really* prefer the oil and wax necks... What makes Music Man so great! :)

Kevin

Yeah me too, I prefer the feel of these necks with tung oil, instead of the lacquer. Unfortunately both my MM have lacquer finishes, jpx and jp12. The 12 is OK because just like the standard JPX it's a mahogany painted neck and the lacquer don't hold my hands when playing but the jpx black sugar, since it has a roasted maple neck it really sucks to have this finish because roasted maple feels even better than a standard maple neck with tung oil but the guitar is awesome anyway.

Wow, the GC anniversary is sweet! I agree that the Black Sugar run was legendary.

What did it make so special? I ask because I have one but I bought second handed and I was not onto music man guitars at the time, this run was from 2011 I think..

I like the feel of the neck on my mystic dream jpxi, but i also love the feel of a nice maple neck. The mahogany does offer a nice warm tone and seems to give more sustain overall
