Hi, I've been offered a neck from a JPX1, it's supposed to be a BFR and has all the inlays and script as it should. It looks very authentic, but it looks like it might be maple with an ebony board. All the descriptions I've seen of these say mahogany neck, were any made with Maple necks?
Thanks

I think they made a few from the roasted black sugar run, I've actually seen a few.

That looks like a BFR model, not the XI. I have only seen JP, JP BFR, and JPX in the black sugar/roasted combo. In fact, I think the black sugar run may have come before the XI as the black sugar pieces had the old trem plates and nickel frets. Both those things were updated for the XI.

Due to the size of the horns and the shape of the arm contour, I would say it is a JP6 BFR (incl. toneblock and maple cap) featuring the Roasted maple/Black sugar package. A very fine guitar, indeed!
