Hey there everyone!

I recently purchased a JPXI 7 and I want to tune it down to Drop G but want to get the string gauges right.

Please only post if you have some decent information to contribute,

It is possible...It will intonate.....and for instance the dudes from Born of Osiris rock a EBMM 7 string 25.5" scale in the tuning I have in mind...

I'm thinking of starting with .11 and not sure weather .59 or higher? I also want it to be a Daddario set as well!

Thanks for looking at my post and any info you have will be much appreciated!

Usually it's recommended to step up a full gauge every time you drop a step. To put it in perspective, I use 10-59 on my JP7s and they're in standard tuning. For Drop G I'd almost try a .70-.72 on the low string, but I'm not sure if the tuners will accomodate it. I had to struggle with a 62 once; it BARELY fit. Just keep that in mind. I just tried googling BoO's gauge and couldn't find anything concrete but I've seen a few mentions of .12-52 + 70 for a 25.5" scale.

Why not just ask the boys direct via Facebook or Twitter? I'm sure they'll get back to you.
