hey guys
some of you know that usually i cant play a petrucci model(even though i love them) But the strangest thing happened the other day in a guitar shop?
i saw the JPXi sitting there which i have played once before, and i thought id give it another go?
to my surprise i seriously could play nearly twice as fast and fluent on it than any of my other guitars? what the hell has happened?
for years i couldnt play the JP because the neck was just to thin for me but yesterday i played it for an hour and fell in love.
it just sat perfect and the thin neck was fine i could actually play everything i usually play with little to No effort and i was shocked!!
so im not sure if my body has changed my playing has changed since i play the Reflex 80% of the time now or something weird just happened but ive decided to look into getting a JPXi immediately!
seriously what an amazing guitar, i really think i need one to push my skill level to greater heights!
p.s has anyone else experienced this?:)
peace

Hey Deano I know what you mean, as I played fat neck Les Paul's for nearly 10 years before discovering EBMM. When I got my JP it was definitely a "whoa!" Moment. It wasn't a bad feeling but a totally NEW feeling.

So at first and for a while it doesn't feel natural or comfortable. But then as the wondrously adaptive mechanism the human is, you get used to it and it feels great!

I miss mine and will have one again someday.

Hey Dean, I know exactly what you're talking about. I never got a long with the JPs neck profile as much as with my other Balls. I tried numerous times, but it just wasnt the fit for me. However when the JPXI came out, I tried it and also to my surprise I was actually enjoying it quite a bit and could play pretty fast on it. I think that the flatter radius has to do with it also. The only thing that I cant get along with is the 3 way switch in that position. I much prefer a 5 way blade switch. But yea man, I think that you can out that beast to use quite nicely :).
