I have always wanted an Axis but could hardly afford them earlier in life(actually I wanted an evh when they came out). I recently bought a 2009 that was a GC exclusive. It belonged originally to someone that was on this forum that sold it after replacing the pickups unfortunately I didnt find that out until after the purchase. The seller was not aware either. I am blown away with the way it sounds and plays though even with the after market dimarzzios that are in it. I got a little carried away looking at guitars and found a decent deal on a new one on ebay and bought that thinking I may return the other one if the new one is better. I took it out of the box yesterday and wow! It is set up a little better than the other and has not gone out of tune yet. The sound of this thing is rediculous. I have an original 5150 212 amp that never sounded great to me just ok playing a few different guitars through it. The amp came to life with the music man. The sound just blows me away now and the comfort of the Axis is amazing. Now the only problem is I dont want to part with either guitar. The new Axis is my favorite but the other one has just a slightly different sound and I like it as well. I cant believe I went from no Axis to two of them. Unfortunately I have been dissapointed with guitars in the past that were supposed to be good and really were not due to bad workmanship or a poor sounding instrument. These guitars are just quality instruments that seem perfect to me.

If it's not enough to put out such a great instrument you get great people that are extremely helpful on the phone when you call as well. I had a few questions along the way and someone always took the time to help and never seemed to be in hurry to end the call. When you read and hear all of the great things people say about Music Man guitars, believe every word of it.

thats an awesome story!!! It is hard to part that's for sure. If you must part with one your heart will know which one. Id live to own an axis one day, but there are so many EBMMs to choose from.

Welcome to the forum, and your guitars dont exist without pictures.

They are both very nice. I like the neck on the sunburst, and the body on the natty. Looks like you may need to keep both.

Yep I think they are both here to stay. I Agree with the comparison. As you can see the burst doesn't have the usual volume knob so I thought it had been changed but in reality it is original and it's the pickups with the chrome covers that were changed.

The pictures came out a little blurry I know. The natty is not a Tribute.

Now you will know the pain : before every rehearsal, you will scratch your head and ask yourself : which one do I take ???
