I saw Dream Theater last night in Frankfurt and I have to say that this was by far the best gig I have yet seen in my live.First row,John Petrucci in front of me,the whole band truly enjoyed themselfs playing there....even John Myung did some jokes and they sounded awesome!!!!!Another Highlight was John´s 7 String JP in walnut burst....wohaaa!!!!It was a magic night....when they played Take the Time I couldn´t here the band anymore because the crowd sung along the whole song!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Truly a very special evening

!!!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sounds great! Congrats on scoring such good tickets.

These were the standart tickets, you were able to chose were you like to stand...but we had to wait 5 hours before doors opened to get there!!!!

The bad thing was that the Security took every Digicam which was used during the concert, and in teh first row you were not even able to take out your cell phone!!!

:eek:

Wow, 5 hours? That's crazy! :eek:
I was 1 hour before beginning, but I have managed to stand in the 4th rows. Not direct before JP, just a little bit "outside", betwen him and the loudspeakers.
It was really grrrreat time! :)

Yeah, that is I suppose the Jahrhunderthalle policy.
One month ago or something I was there at the Tool concert and it was the same, or even worse. The security guys took my camera (just a small amateur digicam) in deposit :(

Give them a chance, especially the singer. He is really great. He sounds live at least as good as on the CD. Really, very impressive :)

Well I class then as completely different styles of music

Fundamentally Dream theater are a Progressive Rock band who tend to lean towards the heavier aspect of music but still keep all the Prog roots using strange orchestrations and complex harmony and chord voicings.

I view Symphony X as a Neo Classical metal band.To me they sound Like Yngwie Malmsteen with Vocals.

Just my view I do respect SX but they aint my cup of tea too 80's for my liking!!

Dream Theater wipe their faces off :D

Ouch! I'm jealous :D
My friend stayed a little longer after the show and he told me that Russell Allen was just standing in the hall when people were leaving :eek:
That is really great from him! Not typical behaviour after such a big show, I'd say.
