I played a rare, predominantly instrumental, jazz oriented gig last night with my keyboard player and drummer. This is very unusual for us as we generally use a female vocalist and do "top 40" and oldies etc. It was an invitation only, grand opening of a new supper club that will eventually cater to mostly jazz and dinner music. High vaulted minimalist ceilings, granite floors, no stage, lots of glass and I was set up inches from a dining room table...probably the worst type of place to play or at the least when you walk in you say to yourself, "why the he@# are we here??"

So, I break out the Axis Sport and for the first time in years plug directly into my JC90. The only effect was my Alesis Microverb in the effect loop. I really didnt even have the floor space for my always present EB Vol pedal.

Well, the evening was a home run!! I felt like I was a kid again plugging my 335 into my first 50 watt 1x12 amp.

The Sport was beyond great...it smoked. What a sound and tone! Ive been playing this gtr for a few years but always in conjunction with my effects board, volume pedal etc and I really have forgotten how "pure" and inspiring a great gtr can be without all the signal crushing junk.

Anyway, I just thought Id share yet another testimony to how wonderful EBMM gtrs are. Happy New Year to all!!

Nice to hear what your guitar and amp really sound like, isn't it?

I'm about to sell my last pedal, a Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus, barely used. PM if interested. Pardon shameless plug, but it fits with the context of this thread. :D

guitar into amp is an amazing experience, the soul of the guitar shines through.

Can I have an amen brotha?!?! I having those same experiences with my new Ace. I thought I would miss not having a reverb on this amp, not a chance. And my Barber compressor pedal will soon be a paperweight. I've thrown in a little chorus and delay a few times, but I am loving just plugging into this thing and going for it. Clean, distorted, it doesn't matter, this thing really inspires me to just play. And the best part is I know I've just scratched the surface with what's available with this thing. I haven't even begun to really tweak and play with it.

I can't wait to get my 20th plugged in to it next week.
