So I just had to replace a snapped string with the string/spring kit and firstly, I literally cannot believe how fiddly that was. Easily the biggest hassle of fixing anything, ever, in my life. Ridiculously tight in there to get to anything and surely there's a better way of doing things.
Anyway, it's fixed. My questions are basically, how do I know that completely toe down has the pot fully open? I did as the instructions and the - misleading - video says and rotated the pot, I've also put the pedal toe down and pushed on the pot to make sure it's fully rotated. Is there a way I can tell? Is it that there is a certain amount of string that it ensures the pot rotates fully?
Secondly, I'm sort of worried this is gonna happen again to me on a gig or at a rehearsal, something I simply can't afford to happen. I love the way the pedal feels, I can't really imagine using something else due to the size, feel, and the way I have it integrated into my rig etc, but I really can't have a pedal just having a string snap on a gig - I do this as a job and it's just a bit of a worry. I know parts and pedals die and if the pot went, then so be it, but just a piece of string that has snapped once on me concerns me. Is there anyway to alleviate the pressure on it or to ensure this doesn't happen in future or something?
Cheers
