I just purchased this today. I bought one used from a local chain before Christmas, but ended up having to return it due to a backbow problem. Thankfully, I got this for a good price at DuBaldo Music in Manchester, Ct.

First impressions:
1. I normally hate heavy gauge strings. I play much better with light strings--8-38s. This came with 10s. However, the neck feels so good, I will probably just keep the heavier gauge on.

2. Compared to my other main guitar (a Carvin DC400, all koa, with a Fishman Wilkinson bridge), this has significantly better tone in both the magnetic and piezo pickups (and I don't think that's all due to the heavier strings), and has significantly better tuning stability.

Glad to join the club. Cheers.

By the way, I should mention that shopping at DuBaldo Music was a great experience. (I suspect quite a few people in the New England area on this forum got their Music Man guitars there.) Highly recommended. Much better than going to Guitar Center or even Daddy's Junky Music.

I decided today to try it with 9s rather than the stock 10s. I wanted a bit more slinkiness and I also wanted better pinch harmonics on the bridge pickup. (Given my technique, I get better pinch harmonics on lighter gauges.) I didn't want to go all the way down to my usual 8s, since it was playing so well for me with 10s.

The set up took no time at all. That had to have been the easiest set up I've done. I didn't need to adjust the saddle height, bridge height, or intonation (it was perfect at the 12th and 19th frets after the change). It just needed some adjustment of the tremolo claw screws and a quarter turn of relief on the neck. Cake.

Result? Harmonics pop out more easily now, and it plays even better. But it still has plenty of tone and power. Love it.
