Just how red is #43 Radiance Red?

I'm thinking about the "next" bass and I want a red one. Candy Red might be the one, but what does Radiance Red look like in person, is it metallic or orangey?

If I may add, Sir Dargin. The metallic radiance red, seems a bit more metallic than EBs other finishes. Not a sparkle, but Id say as close as youll get now.

drumcityguitarland.com has a few pictures of Bongo 5'ers in Radiance on their website. It seems like it's CAR with the brightness turned up a few notches.

I might be biased, but in the years I've been working with paint here at EB, I'd have to say that Radiance Red is the reddest red we've ever had (if red can be judged on a scale of redness). I think radiance is brighter and smoother looking, whereas CAR is a bit darker with more of a texture to it. CAR has also been around for quite a while, where Radiance is one of the newer generations of paint at EB.

One thing is for certain, any sparkle or metallic color is very difficult to photograph and do it justice. So don't be deceived by pictures you may see on the internet. Either color can look very flat and one-dimensional at certain angles, but totally comes alive at others- especially if the instrument is moving while you're looking at it. I'd love to have something on our site where you could spin an instrument and see it from different angles like you can on those real estate web sites... You really have to see them in person and under good lighting to really get to know a color- natural lighting(outside) is always the best.

There's my $.02, but this is why we offer some many colors, because everyone has different tastes. So you be the judge...

RR is a great color and picts don't do it justice at all (have yet to get a "great" pict that shows off how well it looks live).

Well, I have seen a radiance red Bogno 5er at GC and i've seen some pictures of a CAR one. IMHO, candy apple red is a little more subtle and looks a little more classy. Maybe if the other Andrew will chime in here, you'll see what I mean.

Go here and look at my Rad Red JP6. I actually hate the color red.....but this one is just stunning.....Hope this helps ya help.

That picture looks like one taken by the Hubbell telescope. RR looks mighty fine to me too.
