I just ordered a 4-string stealth HH Bongo. :D

The shop told me I was their first customer to order one, and gave me an estimated ship date of late April at the earliest, which would be quicker than I expected if it happens. I've seen the NAMM pictures, but has anybody out there in EB land actually seen a stealth Bongo in the flesh? I know I'm taking a little leap of faith ordering it sight unseen, but I think I'll be very happy when it gets here.

ya im pretty close to ordering a rosewood axis sight unseen. if i didnt have to wait a few months i would have probably ordered it already. feels odd to me to order something for over $1k and have to wait months to get it ... but then again I am as impatient as they come

I too have been considering purchasing a rosewood Axis! But I'm torn between that, a five string Bongo, or just saving my money for next semester's tuition!

And congrats Muggsy! Please post pics once you get it! :D

If you are even considering ordering a bass then you are not as impatient as they come. I AM because I'll guarantee you I'd go nuts having to wait that long for a bass. I usually can't even stand the wait of ground shipping and have it overnited! :p

Whoo hoo! Congrats, Gary! I don't think anyone outside of NAMM Attendees have seen the stealth Bongos. But, I do know that no less than Tony Levin couldn't get them out of his mind after seeing them....

You amazing collection just got that much more amazing. :D

Thanks Jason. I had to let a great one go to make room for the Bongo, but that's the price of progress. I can't wait, but I guess I'll have to....

 G.A.S. :D

Oh, man!!! I have been trying to decide if I should get my fretless in a Bongo Stealth or a StringRay HoneyBurst! I just don't know how the pau ferro neck will look with the stealth's flat black.

Congrats and good luck :)

For what it's worth, my other EB bass is a fretless Sterling in honeyburst with black guard. The honeyburst/pao ferro combo rocks.

Cool. The reason I asked was because when I ordered my Bongo from Chuck's on Jan 10, I was told I'd get it by mid-March which is only 9-10 weeks, not the 12-16 weeks that seems to be the norm. Maybe we'll both get lucky!

Yeah. I really like the honeyburst Sr4 with matching headstock. I love my SR4, but my Bongo gives me so many tones and feels so sweet. The SR4 has a more solid/classic feel and an aggressive tone.

ArrgG! Not yet sure what I will do.

One of each?!?...oh, that would be just too greedy :D
