Well, after much deliberation over color and style, I decided to order a Bongo 5 from bass central in Egyptian Smoke. I tried going with Pete at dubaldo music but he didn't have one in stock, and I need the bass sooner than later for a few groups I'm playing in! Let's see some pictures of everyone else's bongo's in ES. I decided to go ahead with the HH configuration as I feel that I will be most happy with the options.

Hooray!

if i were to get a strap with straplocks, what do you guys use? Anyone have experience with the dimarzio clip locks for a bass? Im not looking to spend more than 50 dollars on the strap and strap locks...How are the EB ones?

The EB straplocks are first-rate. I say that as a long-time user of Dunlops, which are now on their way out. I absolutely DETEST the Dimarzio system, although I'm sure there are fans out there somewhere. I'd much rather have the Schallers, but even those - in my opinion - take a backseat to the EBs.

You can get, within your budget, a Comfort Strap and the EB straplocks.

I know, I know, I'm a company man and I get that, but you can ask BP about me and strings. I don't recommend things I don't believe in, and I believe that the EB straplocks are a real improvement over what we've had so far.

Ditto to what Jack said.

the EBs are top shelf, DiMarzios are ok I guess (if you've got white high-tops, moose-knuckle tight jeans, and a Tennessee Waterfall for a haircut) but I needs to have leather straps.

+1

...except I never liked the Schallers. I used Dunlops before the EBs came out and liked them a lot. The EBs are a lot like the Dunlops, but without that annoying D-clip.

Dunlop straplocks were installed on both first thing.
