i shimmed the neck on my axis .010 over the stock shim and it did improve the action on the upper frets but i have never been so nervous in my life. taking my baby apart was terrifying. it was worth it but i dont think i could do it again

I know what you mean. I get nervous messin' around with mine. I get OC to coach me through it most of the time.....lol. It gets easier, but I still get nervous sometimes myself.

I still feel the same way even though I'm building my own guitar. Somehow, I have no problems cutting, sanding, grinding, filing, etc. on a guitar I've invested months on. But I still don't like to touch any of the guitars I bought.
