Hey everyone!

Just picked this beauty up from eBay, and thought I would swing by the forum to check it out. This is my second Axis so far (I owned a Super Sport previously) and I really like it. I have a question though. With the non-recessed Floyd, it seems that the front edge of the tremelo touches the body when I have the action set to my liking. When this happens the tuning stability flies out the window. Of course I can raise the action to keep that from happening, but then it's a little high for my taste.

Anyone have a solution for this? Am I over-looking something?

Nice...you can always shim the neck, nearest to the body, thus you would be able to raise your bridge and still have that low action...it's easy as pie!

DOIH!

Never thought of that. That's a little more than I feel comfortable doing, but I know I can have my guitar tech do that.

Thanks for the tip!

add a .010 shim between the 2 bolts closest to the bridge in the neck pocket there is probably a shim in there from the factory, just add the new one on top of it. i was nervous when i did mine but it really made a nice improvement

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

OK.....stupid question now. Is the shim made from any specific metal? Did you get one specifically from EB? Sorry....Although I've done lots of "setups" before, I never did any neck shimming.

Try cutting a matchbook cover roughly the size of the shim and use that.
