Why was the manufactoring of the Sabre Bass stoped?

Sales were not huge. I suspect the Sabre was before it's time. A "reissue" would sell very well in my opinion. I've been on the lookout for a goodun for some time.

Yeah i went through E-bay, saw this one, and really wanted to try it out.. god bless transparent PG's
A reissue will indeed be great, but it won't be as atractive as it would have been if it were the only MM with the dual humbecker option (now with the big bad Bongo in the market)

I dunno.

While I'd love one for the extra pickup, the Sabre always struck me as the Stingray's ugly sister. I'd rather it had the Stingray's pickguard and control plate.

personally i think if they wanted to a dual humbucker version of the ray they should just stick the neck bucker in the pickgaurd between the neck and the bridge bucker. i think that would look sweet. my two cents.
