I popped into Knighton Guitars in the UK yesterday to have a look at his stock...
Let me make this clear to everybody in the UK .....

This shop has THE finest stock of Ernie Ball Guitars that I have seen in the county!!! I travel around a lot, shops in the following cities I have visited don't come anywhere close - Manchester, Liverpool, London, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast, Newcastle, - Knighton Guitars beats all shops in these cities - no two ways about it. He'd put a lot of USA shops to shame, period

He has just about every MM guitar in stock and carries some lefties too.
Even has a Gold Luke in Stock.

Lord Knighton the owner should be very proud of his efforts and what with other fine stock he must have a mighty investment. Anybody in the UK that is thinking of getting an EB guitar should get there. It's in a beautiful part of the country and you could make a great day of it - hell he could recommend a cheap Hotel or B & B if you fancied treating the other half to a romantic (and guitar fueled) weekend away?

First time I got the chance to play a HH Albert with a roasted neck and all I can say is what an incredible, incredible guitar it is.
Someone (who has high status in guitars) was in the shop he played it, I played it and he said it was one of the best guitars he has come across - can't tell you who it was (he's on the forum)-'cos I'm sure Lord Knighton will share the experience with you.:p

Did I buy it - alas no, but hell someone should!!!

Mr. Sprud, I just visited they web site and i can tell that they really are stocked, if not in England, but it is surly a Premium dealer that other dealers in EU should be jealous. The HH roasted model looks fantastic, but can you tell me what is the difference between that roasted and the standard rosewood neck.

The Roasted Necks on the Black Sugar instruments have a Ebony fret board and unlike all of the other EBMM's it has a sealed neck as well.

Hope that answers your question. Glenn |B)

Hi Dreadge. Sure thing I'll do my best, but I'm hopeless trying to explain something thats "Audio" in the written word. The roasted neck itself looks great and the figuring really pops. It is finished with a lacquer so it feels different to the raw finish you get on "normal" balls. It also has an ebony board.
The Roasted HH AL (sounds/responsiveness) is so much different to my SSS and MM90 Al's and that has to be a combination of the pickups and the woods used in construction.

I'm not going over the top here but back in 2005 when I played an AL with piezo for the first time I had that wierd feeling in my stomach - I guess it's a kind of adrenaline kick. Well I had it when I played the roasted AL. You guys who have one must be so pleased - it is one hell of a guitar and if you can't get your sound out of that, well ... .... .... .... ... ???

Its good to see a shop in the UK with so much EBMM stock, although my old tobaccoburst BFR Luke, which I then sold to Lukather101, which he then traded in at Knighton, is not listed as used.... a bit naughty that.

Got to get me some roasted neck EBMM goodness soon.... I have a plan ;-)
