It occurred to me just the other day that I seem to have a phobia of dropping tone controls below 5. The mids have seen a 1 or 2 on occasion, on my Warwick I HAD to drop the highs, but for the most part my other basses never get dialed lower than a 5. How very silly of me. I'm just realizing the entire world of sounds I've been keeping locked away from myself.

Anyone else have the same habit, or is it just me and an "If it can go to 11 it will" kind of thing.

ohh... and no, I don't crank all the tone controls when I play. it's the below 5 mark that's been until now taboo.

I rarely go lower than half.

And I shared your propensity to go to 11.

You are not alone....

I will roll off the highs to smooth out the tone, but I like the Bass way up and the mids bumped up to about 2 o'clock....I likes it thick.

i always have all the knobs up. i do have some of that "if it can go to 11" fever ... but a lot has to do with the fact that i dont wanna bother remebering where i like the knobs to be.

i just crank all my knobs up and adjust the amp

Hi..

Normally I don't put in "full trust" ... I always like to have some spare turbo in hand.. just in case :p .

In terms of EQ I tend to use a little of Bass, flat Mids and flat Highs. Then according to the music I work (pull/cut) the Mids/Highs.

But in general.. I never crank all the tones... this bass is excellent ;) .

:)
