So there was that unmistakable knock on the door today. You know the one where the postman is just a bit pissed off from lugging that huge box across the road from where his van is parked, avoiding rush hour traffic and then having a dog bark in his face. THAT knock.

I woke up, chucked some trousers on and there was this guy with the big box. I think to myself "That box looks rather familiar..."

And, well, see for yourself.

Thanks Magnus, for being such a trusting guy. And Thanks Azzy for being awesome. Do I keep this bass, and sacrifice another? Do I just run off and never return? It's tough choice to make...

First or all, those basses look like works of art hanging there. There's reason enough to keep all three.

However...

You have 2 five-strings. One is an HH and the other is an HS. Then you have a 4 string. All Bongo's.

If I had three basses they would be the Sterling H (own it), Bongo HH (might arrive this week, hurrah!), and if I wanted a third it would be a Big Al.

But heck, there are a bazillion justifications you can make for any combination and permutation.

Fantastic blue baby!

What's this 2007 at the 12th fret? Is that kind of limited edition?

Anyway, which sounds better HSp 5, or HHp 5 ?

Yeah, it's the 2007 limited edition - which was a reissue of the Blue Dawn (sparkle) finish - it's absolutely incredible, especially on the Bongo.

I love the PHATness of the HH, but I think I do prefer the way the piezo interacts with the HS. It's so funky, the highs are incredible. But I can't say which is better, they're just different. I'm enjoying the Blue Dawn immensely though - this tells me that it could just be 'the one'...

If you have to sell one, sell the 4-string!

Bye bye Egyptian Smoke...

Okay I'm trying to be realistic (yeah I know, LAME) but I can't take 3 basses to Uni. I also need money for Uni, and I also need to GO AND PLAY THIS BASS!
