Man... I just put on a set of 11's with EMG's running at 18 volts and I can't believe how good it sounds. Straight through to my Roccaforte HG 60 and 2x12 cab. I'm getting bass response almost equal to my 87 LP custom, but tighter. Tone, tone, tone, and the sustain is night and day. I sound like a kid at Guitar Center... I love it!:D

Running 2 9 volt batteries in series... more headroom and more dynamic.

I was already running at 18 volts... I just tried a set of 11's. The second battery fits between the selector switch and volume pot.

I'll try to get to it tomorrow or later this week. Sorry... I have an MX race tomorrow and I need to get my race bike and gear ready. Pics only, I don't have any recording gear.

I this a known Mod? Is there room between the selector switch and

I would love to try this. Awaiting pics and a description of how to perform the 18V mod.

11s on the Koa Luke? I already have that in place and it is awesome!

I used to see 18 volt mod kits show up on fleabay all the time but I haven't had Emgs in anything but a mexi strat for awhile, I thought about this mod in a schecter I owned for a short time in hopes of improving it's limp dull dead tone, but traded it away before i wasted money on a delusion (a bad guitar is a bad guitar). I digress from my expeirence with the SLV's (had em in a Ibanez S) is that they would benefit from this as I found that as battery wore the bass would get fizzy, and fuzzy right away (couple hours of play)

Sorry for the long wait guys... Long hours at work this week. I hope this helps... If you don't have a 9 volt battery cover, just wrap it in electrical tape before installing. I use the existing battery compartment for the other battery. For wiring diagrams just google, "emg 18v mod diagram".

You should be able to try this mod as long as the piezo system does not share the same power supply. I believe piezo equipped guitars have 2 battery compartments, as well as separte electronics compartments. I could be wrong, though.
