Looking at pictures of the Hazel and Blueberry L3's - the Hazel finish has a thin black outline around the maple top, but I don't see that on the Blueberry.

Just curious if it really is there on the Blueberry and not as visible because of the darker finish, or if it is only on the Hazel finish?

My blueberry JP15 has a similar thin, dark band under the maple cap. It is largely obscured by the darker finish around the edge, though, as Nathan said.

This is about the best pic I could get of the line on my JP. The lighting has to be just right to even see it.

It's there. It's a layer -- maybe 1/16" or 3/32" thick -- of ebony (I think) sandwiched between the maple top (1/8") and the body.

Another questions on blueberry burst - I have seen pictures where some appear to be a very dark blue (for example the quilt top HH on Sweetwater right now which I am told is true to the guitar they have), and some appear a brighter blue (such as dibhart77 2015-12 shown here: http://forums.ernieball.com/ernie-b.../61861-nyngd-guitar-days-nyngd-2015-12-a.html

Are there variances in that finish, or is it lighting and camera?
