Hi guys,

I've been looking at the new(ish) Line6 G10 wireless system, but I've read that it doesn't work with some (all?) active electronics. That's kind of a bummer...

However, does anyone here know for a fact if it works as intended with the L3?

That guitar doesn't have active pu's - but the on-board boost function is still triggered/enabled from the input socket, correct? As I understand it, the core of the problem with the G10 is that it's a TRS jack, and somehow that's not correctly triggering the active electronics when plugged into a guitar. A TS guitar cable is required... or something like that ;)

Cheers,
Kasper

Not sure about the G10, but I use a Shure GLX-D system with my Luke 3's all the time with no consequence

Thanks for the comment, but I think the issues people are seeing with wireless and certain guitars are specific to the G10 unit. I had expected there to be plenty of gear nerds in here who had already bought and tried out the G10... but it seems not to be the case. Perhaps that says something about the unit as well ;)

Bummer, really wanted this thing to be good.

I've had a wireless system before with a belt pack and rack receiver etc, but found it too inconvenient. Had to feed it batteries, had to strap it to my body (or guitar strap). I find the design of the G10 to be extremely cool. Plugs into the guitar, so easy to move between instruments and easy to put down the instrument without disconnecting the system from it. And it recharges like a cordless computer mouse, by place it in a docking station...

That is a nice thing about the G10. I went with the Shure for several reasons: the receiver is pedal style and is also a tuner , very accurate and easy to see, and the transmitter has a rechargeable battery that really does last 15-16 hours. I keep mine permanently attached to my strap with a neotech wireless pouch
