There's more mids in this new pickup setup. I guess it helps cut trough the fridge of effects he has there, and his not precisely tame band without having to overwhelm them with pure volume.

I don't think the two bladed pickups eh tried there where X2N, that would have been overkill. They were more likely D-Activator-X's.
