....I finaly bought a LM II :D

I played it at rehearsalt last night and DAMN........this thing sounds sweet!! My old Eden 800WT sounded great and all, but the markbass is so much tighter and focused! I found I didn't need to play as loud and still fit perfectly in the mix, even the guitarist in the band noticed the difference. The 20th SR5 and LM II were made for each other. I was gonna keep the eden as a backup or for louder gigs, but I don't think I want to plug my bass into it anymore.

Can't wait to hear it at our next gig, I was having trouble getting the mud out of my Eden, I have a feeling Markbass will help bring the punch back into my live sound!!!

GAS has been temporarily relieved......;)

Oh! Henry ... curious what Eden rig you are referring to ....

My WT800 through a Goliath III. It doesn't sound bad by any means, in rehearsal it sounds fantastic. But I've been having trouble dialing it in at a specific venu. Large glass wall behind, hollow stage, 20 foot high metal ceilings, and No PA support!!!!!!!!! On stage it sounds OK, But out in front it becomes muddy and undefined. I know the LM II won't miraculously fix the venues bad acoustics, however since it has a tighter sound, It should help a little....I hope.

And yes, it IS plenty loud, which is why I no longer see the need to keep the eden.

So ... Eden head, but not Eden cabs ... maybe it's the Goliath, not the head ... i.e. an SWR versus Eden concern. I have rarely seen a reference to Eden/"mud".

Like I said, other than the said venue, I've always been super happy with the Eden head. (but more so with the MB :D ) I've been playing eden for over 9 years and have always been satisfied. I just decided to try the MB and see what the hoopla is all about. And I do find the sound to a a little tighter.

I think the venue is sucking out most of my sound, once your 20-25ft away from the stage it becomes.... not so much muddy, just very very undefined. It may be that I just havn't been able to dial in the proper settings for that particular room, and that the MB will sound exactly the same.

I guess "Mud" was not the right word to use

It's all about what you want. I know lots of people who love Eden, but I've had two or three (thinking I should love them, too) and was never able to get the kind of well-defined focus and punch I wanted.

Different strokes.

Oh - and I love my MKII.

Skinny stringer input coming forth!!

I was at a guitar clinic the other week woth several musical chums and the bassist playing that night was Reggie Hamilton

alfter the show I was speaking with Reggie for a good hour alongside a bassist friend of mine,we or rather THEY spoke in depth about bass and gear.

Now my bass playing friend is a long time Eden player and Reggie used to play Eden too but he was all jumped up about his new F3nder bass amp

The thing that got me was that I never knew whether or not to believe him becuase his purpose that night was bass...ically to sell F3nder equipment to the crowd and he found his ideal client,my friend as he was the only bassist there

I have played many a Eden and I do think they are one of the best but this was a top guy ( you all know that he is one of the best) and he was pretty much slating eden!!!

but then again he did also try and convince my friend to cancel his custom order S@dowsky and buy a cheap F3nder mexican made J Bass and put a Bartolini preamp in it :D
thats nutz.....

That would probably make Reggie the only pro bassist on the planet using a Fender amp, so it sounds like he was merely earning his endorsement fee.

My Navigator pre amp sounds very tight and punchy and compliments the Stingray sound well.

I did play my new SR4 through the LMII at the shop with matching Markbass 210 ans 115 cabs and it was a nice rig. from there however, I plugged into an Epiphani rig and quickly forgot all about the Markbass.

Of course the price was getting insane.
