Well I still have a few weeks to go until my Sterling, is ready so to keep me from going insane, or more so than I already am, I took a trip over to GC to play some of their Sterlings. After I was jamming on one for about 5 mins I realized something was different with the pole pieces. The ones on the Sterlings seem to be beveled while the ones I had on my Stingray, and on the Stingrays in the shop, dont seem to be rounded off like this. Any reason for this? Just curious. Its about midnight over here and I'm feeling chatty so I figured why not bring up something so needed. :D

My 04 and 05 Stingrays have beveled pole pieces. My 92 Stingray does not have beveled pole pieces.

LOL...I know the feeling.

You just GOTTA scratch that itch. I did the exact same thing while waiting for my Bongo.

BTW...you're local. The rest of my band is based in Bronxville. I'd invite you to our gig tomorrow, but it's a private party. PM me if you want to come see us some other time.

Interesting, my ray must have been more mature than I thought, and now that I think about it, the 3 rays they had in were all used, while the sterlings were new. I can sleep well now.

and PM sent to adouglas

Fear not, Henry, your pole pieces shall be smooth, like unto the rear end of a newborn, or that of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.

Such is the way of the modern era EBMM bass.

This bass is becoming more exciting all the time. Smooth poles, compensated nut, sounds almost dirty.

I'm such a geek. I get excited about people buying basses from me and then actually getting them.

This probably means I am new at the sales monkey gig, but dammit, I like it.

You know Jack, thats what makes you a cool guy. You should think about adding a section on your website that you can post pics of everyone who buys a bass from you with what they got. Kinda like what they do over on bass central. It would be cool to see all the forumites with their cool new axes we got through you. Just a late night thought, but I'd be one to contribute!

I like the way you think!

I really do need to do that. I have all these ideas about stuff, but hearing it from you guys makes me realize that I have to actually take action.

And so I hereby promise: I shall have a "Happy Customers" section on bovinehost.com!

I love this place.

It is late and I am bored too. So imagine your bass bouncing around in the back of the UPS or FedEX truck.

Oh oh I am feeling mean.

my HS Sterling is still a lonely chunk of wood who has yet to learn his fate. poor bastard has no clue that hes gonna get cut and sanded and painted some crazy gold color and have more stuff bolted onto him then finally get deliverd to my grubby hands to live with his fellow sterlings in casa de phatty.

i hereby dub my unborn Sterling "Stewart"

lets all have a drink for Stew. Jack i know you've got the K1 at your side

Phatty, I miss the old avitar. You looked like Mike Lindup, or maybe that guy from the Drew Carry show. My wife says I don't do well with change. :D
