Hi all, just realised that the hard case for my Luke 3 seems to be designed to allow the trem arm to remain fitted while the guitar is in there. Anyone have any bad experiences from doing this, anything to watch out for?

Don't worry about doing that, it was designed that way, and it's a very cool feature of the MusicMan case!

I have the impression that, when the trem arm attached, there's some constant pressure on the bar (not much), when the case is closed. I did a quick test hitting the strings just before close the case, and I think I can hear the arm going down before the strings are muted. Am I right?

I don't use my hard case 99.99% of the time. My Silo Special is in a gig bag, travelling all over own bumpteen times a week, with the trem bar on and a ton of crap in the gig bag's front pocket. More pressure on the trem bar than in the hard case - no problems at all ever. As Stevie Wonder says "don't you worry 'bout a thing".

If you have a BFR case the bar does touch the lid of the case just a tiny bit, at least with both the Luke and JP guitars, but not with the hard cases that the standard Luke and JP models come with. I speak only from my perspective owning a BFR Luke and JP and also having owned the standard editions of a Luke and JP. Other guitars may be different, I don't know. I also speak from a factory settings perspective. If you change your bridge height or do other adjustments you may get different results.

I have both types of case, and both types of trem (standard and Floyd) and I never remove the arm on any. Never had any problems either.

I don't think it does on my AL; it's hard to tell since the case fuzzies mute the strings once the metal rims of the case makes contact with it's clamshell counterpart, but even if it does, it's not gonna be enough to do any damage to the strings or guitar. Keep your arms on with confidence!
