So I tried just leaving the whammy bar on my JP13 when it was in the case today. Worked just fine - it's difficult to detect if the bar actually takes a slight dive when the case if fully closed (schrodinger's cat and whatnot) but I barely had to tune it (no more than usual for any guitar in this Hawaiian heat).

Does anyone else leave the whammy bar on their JP guitars when they put them away? One thing I love about my AL HH and my Maj 7 is that they come in that cool new plastic case (made in China, BTW lol) that you can leave the trem bar on - because of this, I find I use the whammy bar WAY more than I normally would for a guitar that I have to put it on and take it off every time I play.

As a side note, I'm a nurse, and I was trying to explain to someone what it feels like to put an indwelling urinary foley catheter in a patient, and the only thing I could compare it to was putting the whammy bar in my JP13 hahaha

Oh wow - interesting... I guess so long as the guitar doesn't get stacked or smashed while in a gig bag, I could see the merit in that.

I dunno know where my superstition that if the whammy bar gets pushed while it's in the case on the guitar suddenly that's the end of the world lol

One issue with a good soft case and whammy bar inserted in guitar is that a well-tuned guitar maybe is not in tune when you take it out from the bag for the gig. But then again we all tune guitars before going up on stage...

Many times while on stage. This is why pedal tuners are such big sellers. :D

It's not. :)

Even in a gig bag there is pressure on the trem arm, and I put a ton of crap in the front pocket of the case. No problems at all.

Now that I gig with 2 JP6s...I use one of those high-end Mono 2 guitar gig bags and leave the trems on...no problems.
