Left handed Petrucci Model

I am here as a huge Ernie Ball Musicman fan and I would like to convince the powers that be to make the John Petrucci model available for us left handed players. Anybody who would love to see this happen, please reply to this post. Maybe if we get enough people to request it, they could do a one time run for those of us who want one. let's get this rally going!!!

There's a couple of reasons why a left handed Petrucci model has never been offered. I should know, because like you (except last year) I was nosing around for the same thing:

1.) Demand is simply not high enough. To warmly and accurately quote Big Poppa, about 3% of guitars are left handed. That is simply not a profitable venture, no matter which way you slice it.

2.) The bridge is a custom job that was created specifically for the JP guitars. It would be a very cost-intensive venture to create one left handed, and again, the deman for it would not surpass the costs.

3.) The JP is a model is designed to accomodate the artist in question. Since JP doesn't play left handed, then that means there is less of a chance. An "Okay" from JP would need to be had in order to proceed, plus a lot of funds to create said guitars.

Sidenote: The LUKE left handed was created because of some left handed golf player who donated a large sum of cash to the Casey Ball Foundation (correct me if I'm wrong) and through a stringof related events, the guitar surfaced.

Don't push on the boys and girls at EBMM to overstretch themselves any further. If it's meant to happen, then one day it will. Otherwise, go buy an Axis Super Sport, Silhouette Special and LUKE and be happy.

Well based on your thorough explanation about the JP model (though it makes me sad) i have decided to buy a Lefty Luke Blue Dawn from DrumCityGuitarLand.com (Jason rocks!) Can't wait to get it and join the ranks of EBMM. I am looking forward to being impressed with it.
