I was thinking that maybe it would be cool to have a sticky where all left handed players could chat and questions could be addressed about left handed Musicman guitars and so we don't annoy the righties with our odd, alien looking guitars. Just a thought.

Ok, now comes the time where you right handed "normies" attack...

...and begin.

I hate to be the bad guy here, but do we really need a sticky where certain members bitch about not having a left handed Petrucci guitar? It would just be about a dozen forumites plotting and scheming. I say we don't need a special thread for this. We all ready have a magical forum in which to spread our anti-descriminatory thoughts.

Hell, I know I'd bitch about getting a left handed Silhouette; so for me personally it's not a wise idea!

That's true, you covered that "wanting a left handed Petrucci" back in '06 before I was even here. I found that thread.

"Not a wise idea" would be to complain that EBMM sucks for not making one, and that is soooooo not the case with me, I just would love to see it done one day. It's the hope that keeps us going. And, I never brought it up in this thread anyway, so there! :p

So now you're on to the Silhouette?

i'm down for that!!

The way I see it, is that it has the same body as the Silhouette Special which is less R&D. It has a trem or a hardtail, like the Silhouette Special. Less R&D. It has the same routing as a Silhouette Special, but has two humbuckers and a single coil. That is no R&D, but just a little more in the cost department. The only thing that would be remotely difficult would be throwing on a 24 fret neck. All that really entails, is the same dimensions as a righty neck, but cutting the headstock to be left handed. That's it!

At this point, with what I've laid out, to combat costs of doing said neck, were the boys and girls at EB to throw on a four or five hundred dollar upcharge to make the neck, I'd be willing to pay it. It's not some outlandish research like making a left handed Petrucci trem system. It's just reversing the headstock on the 24 fret necks, and making the neck cavity on the body of a Silhouette Special a little deeper. Oh yeah, backwards pickguards too. That's it! Five hundred bucks would put the guitar somewhere around the 1800 dollar mark, which is close to what I paid for my Axis Super Sport.

Being that I'm left handed, I am used to (and all lefties should be too) paying more for our backwards gear. I love the EB doesn't charge us out the ass to get our gear (I think it's a fifty dollar upcharge), but think if they were willing to throw us a bone in the way of a 24 fret Silhouette, I would shell out two grand in a heartbeat.

That's just my take on it. I really don't need my own thread for this. I spread the lefty love in every thread I post in. Hahahaha.

Not to sound like a schmuck, but I'm seriously happy with what I have. There are other guitar companies that don't give lefties the time of day, let alone include them in forum only limited edition pieces.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm just happy to have a guitar that bleeds tone the way my Luke does. I never get over what an amazing axe it is. This was confirmed when I took my Dargie Luke to Guitar Center to test drive an effects unit. Someone told me 'thats the coolest guitar I've seen in here....and it's a lefty!!!"

It got more than a few stares.
