Hello, n00b here. I read through the other thread and it's mildly amusing. My wife and I have agreed that we each get a couple percent of our income to blow on whatever, and this has worked great. I can save up and buy whatever with no questions asked (granted it takes a while for high end gear). I'm wondering if you guys are serious about buying gear and hiding it, 'cuz I couldn't see myself doing that

Here's my top tip. If your wife asks you how many guitars you have then always add a couple then you can buy one or two new guitars if the right ones become available. It also works in your favour if you accidentally leave the music room unlocked and the wife takes advantage of the opportunity to conduct a sneaky audit. Of course this only works if you have a lot of guitars, it would no good for guys with just one or two.

I can't answer why they get mad, but I can say that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission

My gf(of 5 years, close enough to wife) has come to an understanding. I work very hard for my money, pay ALL the bills including her car insurance etc etc. I put a roof over our heads. After all my bills Im left with $2200/month extra cash. That is and will always be my money. She doesn't question my gear purchases or other purchases for that matter

If you're buying it with your private savings, it's none of her business. If you're using your shared savings, then that's just stupid to not tell her, why would someone even do that? So many idiot posts in this thread. Makes me ashamed of the male race.

My fiancé doesn't consult with me before buying shoes, makeup, clothes, or purses so I don't have to tell her about my gear purchases.

Wow, I think your wife hacked into your account and left this message. Otherwise, take a chill pill buddy, it'll be alright. It's an Internet forum, no need to get overly worked up about things…jeez.

If my wife hacked into my account, you'd see some stuff on the for sale thread listed at the prices (lies) I told her. haha

Haha, sorry Bryan, I quoted Mat(t) on the wrong line. It was meant to be about the Rosewood neck, not the selling gear.
But yeah, neck swap mod. I'm very excited 'bout that!
