If you have loved ones, then there is impending tragedy in your life. It is unavoidable.

This sounds like it could have been said by one of the all time philosophers its so powerful. Nice, Buc. Make a good line in a song too.
Hope the surgery and any other treatment needed go well Peter.

I remember when my mother was on her way out, my guitar seemed like it was on auto pilot and out came the most hauntingly beautiful song (for me at least) i ever wrote. Wishing u some inspiration from this

Peter,

my thoughts and prayers are with your dad and the whole family. News like that are always terrible to hear but the fact that it's treatable and hasn't spread is what we germans call "Glück im Unglück" (which means having at least a bit of luck in an unfortunate situation)...I'm sure everything will work out for the best!

i'm telling my dad he needs to get a tattoo of a bullet since he dodged one...

we're actually in very high spirits today... we did get to speak to two doctors... the one who discovered the cancer... called to check in on us and my dad... see if there were any questions since yesterday was a blurr for most of us...
a second dr called as well... his primary and she was empathetic and was able to answer a few questions i had

but we're very thankful for all your prayers... i've shared with my dad and it brought tears to his eyes...
the silver lining is we now know... we're making a plan of attack and were going to come out ok...

obviously this is all new to me so thanks for allowing me to share this with you guys... and just post my thoughts as they come along.

My goal is to encourage everyone to let those around you know how much they mean to you and if there's something preventing a relationship from existing do all you can to reconcile before it's too late.
My dad and i have a good relationship and i'm thankful for that... but as of the last few months my sister has actually begun to restore her relationship with my parents... so all in all make it known while you can that you love em

I am very glad that the prognosis is positive! Love 'em while you can, both my folks died in the last two years, way too soon. Don't leave anything for 'later'.

yeah... my grandmother died in her 50s

my grand father passed away 9 years ago now and my papa was my closest friend... he gave me my first guitar... 1956 Gibson Les Paul jr... still have it too...

but that ultimately lead me to this wonderful place because from that moment on i was hooked on guitars...
i remember making a run to the store Jacks House of Music and bought my first set of strings...
Ernie Ball Regular Slinky's - still use 'em to this day... although i do have cobalts on my 20th and Silo Special right now trying em...
