Hi

I would like to ask this to all member or participant in MM production. I assume that the reason MM didn't make a possibility of pickup height adjustment on MM JP model IS the best sound comes when pickup contacts to the body (i guess?) and now this is the problem.

I'm a high action player (around 2mm at low E on 12th fret) and when there's a big space between strings and pickup it sounds like my vol pot is on 80-90% position

Question is, should I put something to lift up my pickup, if so is it gonna make sound worse ?
(hope my Eng wasn't so bad)
thank you !

Hi Jazz - I raised mine using foam rubber, and I prefer it that way. In the future, I'll change the foam rubber to wood shims.
It made my JP better not worse.

I cut segments from a standard garden hose washer to use as spacers and lift the pups in my Axis SS. The hard rubber allows for a small amount of adjustment, as well.

Yep!! I agree, you certainly can raise the pickup. On the seldom occasion I do this I use custom made "wood" washers of various heights (shims). You can set the pickup adjustment to your hearts desire.
