I have 2 Rays, and a Fender P Jap. A USA F Jazz is also on its way.

Im looking for a great new light bass head.

Id like a bit of hifi, but also the ability to grind. It will be used for rock and anything else upto slap.

Im thinking MB, GB or GK. Maybe even the weight of a 1001 RB II.

Thoughts?

The new GB and MB gear is hitting the UK very soon!

Any of these would do all that you are looking for.

I've tried the TC Electronic RH450 a couple of weeks ago and I was truly impressed with the performance and the true tube sound it delivered, and for a small package it's full of onboard gadgets.

Good luck and let us know what you choose in the end.

All of the requested attributes can be acheived by pairing an MarkBass F1 with a SansAmp RBI. I know someone who's dunnit and it sounds great...

Well, I don't know about the F1, but I've paired my Ampeg amp (B2Re head with a SVT410HLF cab) to a SansAmp RBI, and it changed litterally my sound!!! I've found the warmth tone with an impressive attack and presence that I've been looking for in the past 15 years...... You might want to give it a try!!!

Thanks
Vnincent

Markbass TA503 is my preferred weapon. Tube pre-amp for that warmth, semi-parametric eq for great tonal control, and the two magic filters for that vintage sound/feel.

If you want GK and tubey check out the fusion head...Im a markbass guy and all but those are pretty cool. Also the Mesa carbine heads are nice too.

If you don't need the power of a Genz-Benz GBE1200, you should take a serious look at the GBE750 and the Shuttle 12.0

I use a GBE1200 and GB810T-Uber with my Stingray 5's. The results are outstanding!

You'll receive the same level of support and service from Genz-Benz (should you have any issues) as we've all receive from Ernie Ball Music Man today. Both companies are the best in their respective fields IMO.
