I really like Line 6 stuff, but I know its not for everyone. Works for me live.

I use the Line 6 Duoverb. Its a LOUD 2x12" which does the 2 amps at once trick. No built in effects, but it does have reverb. Line 6 stopped making them some time ago, and they come up on ebay every now and again. I got the last one for £310 including the £200 FBV shortboard. I use mine et to JCM800 for drive, and Fender Twin for cleans. Its a shame you do not live closer or you could borrow one for a gig!
