Just got my Majesty and the guitar is great, however I snapped the high E string. When I went to put on another it seems I cannot lower the locking post. I have loosened the lock knob all the way and the post has not moved.
Any known issues with MM locking tuners?

Where did the E string snap at? if it snapped at the tuning post a piece of it may still be in the tuner.

At the post, if there is a piece in there, its pretty small. I dont see it. So I cant grab it to pull it out.

Also sometimes you need to 'knock' on the top of the tuner to loosen the internals -- that's what I do from time to time if I can't easily slip in a string to the locking tuner.

Yup it's just that.
make sure you have the tuner in the unlocked position and just give the top of the post a tap - use the handle end of a screwdriver?. You will then find that the string will go through ok. It's a common thing that happens with these tuners but is not a big issue and doesn't need a "repair".

Thank you for this! I recently just purchased a new JPXI and when I changed the strings I noticed that the clamps would not drop down. I tried to research it but couldn't find anything definitive. Any reason in particular why they do get stuck like that?

I don't have a definitive answer really, and maybe somebody from Customer Service could chime in here?

All I know is that when I helped Strings N Things out before clinics or exhibitions, we had to change a lot of sets of guitar strings and this glitch would be pretty common.

I haven't seen the internals of the locking mechanism but inside the post there appears to be some kind of floating catch probably a ball bearing that tightens against the string. This would make sense to me as when you tighten the knurled nut, you want something inside the post that will clamp the string without breaking it.

Common little niggle with any similar style of locking tuners. (EBMM uses Schaller tuners but Sperzels will do the same thing too). When you unlock the tuner, before you pull the string give the string a good wiggle inside the post. That helps to drop the pin.

Thank you for the advice... I will try this as well on my next string change.
