what I want is something that can twang like a tele, quack like a strat, rip if it has to, with a piezo and of course a trem as good as a jp6.

which ball has all these; any?

Danny, that's kind of a selective thing. Everyone has an idea, but in the end it's your call.

Have you tried the vintage trem? If you are just looking for recommendations.

AL, Silo Special, Silo, 20th Silo.

The Morse is a contender, but unless you split the coils you'll have a hard time with "quack".

HSS Silo Spec is a great choice- great rock, strat and tele sounds in there.

AL...not sure of the trem though....but AL for the rest for sure.

Exactly what I was thinking. Would be fun to put a JP trem on an AL, huh?:)

My SSS AL absolutley smokes with high gain amps - especially with my RV50 and with a JSX and 6505 I tried.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. If you want something that sounds like a tele, buy a TELE. If you want a strat sound, buy a STRAT. BUT, if you want something completely unique and has killer single coil sounds, buy an AL. I'm not trying to get you to go Fender, I'm trying to say that the reason people buy Music Man guitars is because they DON'T sound like the other brand. They stand alone.

yeah tele sounds really belong to a tele. but you can get all those other sounds from a silo special with HSS for sure. you could get kinda tele tones from it too, depending what sort of player you are too.

or maybe get an AL really, listen to Eric Johnson- he can get gain tones out of his bridge pickup, so you might want a single coil in the bridge to get tele tones, but maybe a beefier one to get gain tones, not that the AL cant do it on its own anyway. maybe an AL with MM90's is what you'd like.

For the most tricks in one pony, it's pretty hard to beat a Silo Special HSS. Whether they're your tricks or not, only you can decide. There's other considerations besides the shear number of tones you can get from a single guitar, right? Such as, do you like those particular tones. There's also neck shape and radius, which for me is a huge factor. They vary widely on different model Balls.

Good luck with your search and find mission.

hey Candid, i played a Silo Special SSS in Autumn Redburst today, it was used in a shop here in Melbourne, they wanted $2000 AUS for it, WAY too much, it was dinged up and used a lot, sounded ace though. I'm thinking about it, but id have to bargain them down a lot.

Rob, is your DD coming with SSS or HSS?

Yeh, 2 Gs sounds high, even given the difference between Aussie and Yanky dollars.

Rob, curious to know how you'll like the SSS, by comparison to your old HSS. It's gonna be a killer ax! Martini anyone? heh..

Ahhh the old...can you tell me which single guitar can reproduce the all unique tonal aspects of four individual axes, each made of different woods, in various shapes and scale lengths and a wide variety and positioning of both single and humbucking pickup configurations?? Or, do you guys offer the LesTelStrataTrucci.

AL - MM90's - next question:D
(Sil Spec and Luke too)

well the autumn SSS had a much nicer tone than my ex-silo special, it sounded plenty like my AL's, nice sparkly cleans, even thugh the strings were old and its was beat up. so naturally a brand spankin new DD Silo Spec SSS will be much better!!!!
