i developed dequervain's tendonitis in my right hand a few years back, and the process could apply to anyone here experiencing pain.
I had dequervain's tendonitis in my left wrist a few years ago. I got it when my son was about 1 or 2 years old. I got it from holding him on my lap while he was twisting and flailing about. Lots of rest, ice, and becoming aware of how I held my kid all led to it getting better without surgery. It was really, really bad before it got better.

Follow the advice of BP and others to rest until it gets better, then follow some of the other advice on how to start back slow with stretching, 124 technique (think of your left hand as a bunch of bananas - Glenn Letsch).

Good luck and get better soon.

Thanks again, everyone! BP, I am trying to rest (as much as possible) to get over the acute injury and let the swelling subside. I am very grateful for all of the ideas with regard to alterations in technique and exercises to help prevent a recurrence - they are all good.

Nic - you've clued me in - my work place went completely filmless and 100% computer based 1 week before my problem started! Aha! I've already requested that the powers that be have someone take a look at my work station set up. I couldn't figure out why after so many years of playing I would have a problem suddenly now - it couldn't be age.....!! LOL:rolleyes: :)

Thanks again!!!

Hehe! I thought my intern was the one who came up with the term "Crackberry." I'm glad to see it's universal. :D
