Question Looking to buy a Bongo - Color question

So I'm looking at buying a new Bongo HH 6 and I am wondering if the color Desert Gold is still available... I know there is now Orange Firemist but I think it is considerably darker. So I was just wondering if it is available anymore.

Also is it possible to get Black Hardware without getting a stealth?

Both answers are unfortunatly no... You may still be able to find a Desert Gold... But they will not make a new one. As far as black hardware it was my understanding it was stealth or special run only.

Thanks guys... which one would you say is closer to desert gold?

Also, If they make black hardware anyway, why wouldn't you be able to have it as an option? (As small of an option it is) Same applies for gold hardware like that of the Sequoia Gold LTD basses.

No on the hardware - I really think True Gold is closer to DG under MOST conditions (and I had a DG Bongo). IMO, True is about half way between Medallion Gold and Desert Gold... Firemist is about halfway between Desert Gold and Lava Pearl. Firemist IS orange, really orange (in a good way - it does capture the DG under some bright light conditions) True Gold is gold with a bit of a orange cast (under most lighting) - it can go pure gold to dark orange to even brown. Both are very cool.

I just ordered an Orange Firemist HS Bongo 6 today with black perloid pickguard which happens to be what that bongo is in that pic posted. Seeing that pic just made me so happy to realize that what im going to have
