Hello all. I've been toying with the idea of getting a TC Nova unit. I really like the G system. But that's just a little much $$ for me. Any experience with this unit?
Hmm, I was thinking about getting one too. I don't have any direct experience, but from what I've heard, the quality of the effects is brutal. Besides, with the right devices, you can also control your amp's features (channel switching switching the effects loop on or off, etc) and assign them to any of the presets, which is a cool feature if you're looking to eliminate tap dancing when playing live.
I've had one for a couple of years now, and it's great. Easy to use, great sounds. I primarily use it in the loop of my Mark V to handle all the time-based stuff, but for quick shows I'll use it by itself into the front of an amp (takes care of the overdrives and is typically the only 'pedal' I'll bring to those types of shows).
I´m using it since around one year in front of my one channel JTM45-style combo and I love it. For me the perfect solution between good sounding effects, analog drive section and the use of presets. It´s built like a tank and in case of damage of your amp you can run it straight in the PA because of the cab sim. For the price unbeatable. It´s built for the pedal-board-guys who like it more simple and programmable. With the built in drive section there are no metal sounds possible, more in the classic rock way.
It's an amazing unit. Insane for the cost. I've owned and used one for a couple years before parting out y rig and moving over seas. I bought it alone for TCs pristine modulation and delays. And that alone made the cost worth it. Just please be sure to buy new and not Old or B stock. As you might get one with the faulty circuit. (they were supposedly all recalled and replaced but you can never be too safe)
I have one also. I honesty haven't spent enough time with it, but it is by far my favorite of the multi-effects boxes I have tried (Boss GT10 and Line6 M9). Quality of the effect units is very very good, versatile and easy to tweak.... I have never gigged with mine however, but use it as a practice board.
