Hello All,

Newbie here, just picked up a N.O.S. Sillhouette Special and wondered why I ever sold my old Albert Lee.

This is a real gem and is here to stay (One of my Telecasters is now going up for immediate sale).

You sold and AL, did you have a moment of weakness man???

Welcome back, and to seeing the light. Now drink the Kool-aid and buy another one.
Hahahahahahahahaha, long day/week/month/year!!!

I would welcome you, but as a member of the AL club I don't know if I'm allowed too,... have to check the handbook on social graces toward those who have sold their AL's. (tis a pity you know) ;)

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forum!! That Sillhouette Special was done on 3/03/04 and sent to Mario Conti Music in Cyprus.

Thanks for the welcome.... I may have to hang my head in shame for a while before I can be accepted by the 'Al Club' (How was I to know?) :D :D

The yearning started again a couple of weeks ago when I saw Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes at a small theatre near home. He ain't slowed down one bit and his guitar sounded just beautiful ..... I knew I had to have another and I couldn't wait.

I loved the Al - but always hankered after the vintage sunburst with piezo & trem, so a full morning of 'phoning round the dealers landed me this NOS '04 SSS, right colour, rosewood board, piezo, trem, pearl scratchplate and soooooooo playable once I ripped off the 10's that some savage in the shop had fitted (even though it was still set up for 9's).

The truth is - it could have been £300 more and I would still have bought it

They offered me a free set-up.... but after seeing what their butchers had done with the 10's - I politely declined.

Now I'm happy again and I can see that the other guitars are gonna be spending a long time in their cases.
