I just watched Spirit Televison last night (A Contemporary Christian kind of MTV / VH1) and saw 5 videos in one hour in which the bassist was using StingRays and Sterlings (No Bongos yet):
• Building 429 - Glory Defined (SR5)
• Salvador - Like David Danced (SR4)
• Michael W. Smith - I See You (SR5)
• Pencils On Erasers - Like a Train (SR5)
• Third Day - Show Me Your Glory (Video shows them from 2 different concerts - one using a Sterling and one an SR5)
:D :p :D :p :D :p

I think God must really like Music Man and its players! :D :D :D

Although MxPx is not a completely Christian band, I mean they have songs about girls and life, but they also have many songs about God:

MIKE freaking HERERRA (custom 2 eq Sparkle rays with maple fretboards, matching headstocks, and custom logo pickguards)

Salvador rocks. You find lots of them in gospel music too. Hezikiah Walkers bassist uses a SR5. I am sure there are others too.
You mean "Won't He Make You Clean" Hezekiah Walker??? :D I love him. I've got a DVD of his but no Music Man basses, lots of Ken Smith's though. Oh well I know he changes bass players a lot - there's like 4 different ones on the DVD.

And yes Salvador DOES rock! :p

Armybass you are too  .

Yes, my knowledge of Hezekiah Walker was from about 99-01 and I saw them on TV and the guy had a Trans Teal SR5 just like the one I had at the time. But you are right...gospel is pretty much the land of Ken Smith Basses and I love both of them. Fred hamond is my main man though. Now that is a Ken Smith playing fool there bro.

I got the first Salvador CD a few year back and I was blown away with the sound they had. Also I'm not cool, I just look that way because I play Stingray's. ;)

Actually I look a little like a white Fred Hammond. ;) Except I don't have a Ken Smith anymore. And personally I think that the first Salvador CD was the best. :D

In our band at church we do a couple of outdoor concerts during the summer. In the summer of '03, we had a full brass section and two drummers plus some added percussion. We did 'Lord I Come Before You' by Salvador - and I think we laid it down pretty well. That was fun!

I know the bass player for Switchfoot. His name is Tim Foreman. He plays two Sterlings, a trans gold/maple. and a vintage sunburst/rosewood. Hes also a fellow GK endorsee. Those are some of the nicest guys Ive ever met. I got to spend some time with them after their last Atlanta show. It was good to see all of thier crossover fame hadnt gone to their heads.

Tai Anderson from Third Day has some nice Music Mans.He had a Sterling for the longest time but now he uses his burnt apple StingRay and black StingRay 5 exclusively. What a tone he gets as well as the bass player from Michael W Smith. I believe they both use Ampeg SVT4 Pros with Bass Pods.Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that Tai from Third Day and Tim from Switch foot are really good friends and one inspired the other to use Sterlings?

Tim told me that Tai did first interest him in the Sterling.

yup,or atleast Tai does. last summer we did a Sunday morning worship set and Third Days gear was up behind us so I got a good look at Tai's rig, 2 8x10's and a big ol' Bass Pod going into SVTs for power (I think they were 4Pro's but could'a been 2Pro's)
Really nice tech. too but he hadn't even heard of a Bongo! unfortunately I didn't get my Bongo until I got home from that trip :( oh well...
